Part of a limited edition serie designed in 1960 by Ermanno Toso, this magnificent piece features a big central murrina, surrounded by concentric circles in red and yellow hues. MURRINA GRANDE was realized in only three versions; same murrina but in different colours - red and yellow, blue and yellow, green and yellow.
Murrine is typical Murano glassmaking technique; it involves creating colored patterns or images in a glass cane, which are revealed when the cane is cut into thin cross-sections. In MURRINA GRANDE serie only one section of murrina - with the concentric cyrcles pattern - is used for each piece.
